I was in Wooster to pick up some items on this dark and rainy night. And even though it was only 6pm, it was dark.

(“signature” detail)
I missed the pull-off on my first pass (headed west) and had to go about a mile before there was a good opportunity to stop safely on the north side of the road. If I’d had my turn signal on (left) as I was approaching the barn, I might have been able to duck into the Scot Industries main entrance, but I had vehicles behind me and the road was wet, so I drove past and turned around when I had the chance.
The Barn is very much the way I left it in 2023, perhaps a little worse for weather.
Something I noticed on this visit but failed to remark on in past visits is the the signature on the bottom right: “D Steiner”, or perhaps “D Stelner”.
That’s not how Scott Hagan typically signs his work!
It’s not entirely clear from a quick glance at the Wayne County Auditor’s page for this parcel, but it appears that Ruth Thorley owned the land until 1988 when it was sold to Scot Industries. That doesn’t clear up who “D Steiner” might be. If you have any history or clues about this, drop us a comment!
Where to view and visit: 6500 Ashland Road, Wooster, on US 250, about 6 miles west of Wooster, at 40.82022° N, 82.05225° W
This Barn is on the south side of US 250 (Ashland Road) and there is a driveway just to its northwest (on the same side of Ashland). It’s probably trespassing, but it’s a convenient place to park for a short visit. Don’t block the exit and you’ll likely be fine.
