Lucas County – September 3, 2025

Needing some dinner before driving the rest of the way home, I stopped at the Crissey Road Food & Beverage Center across the street from where this Barn used to be.

Yes, another Barn gone.

According to the local scuttlebutt, the owner allowed his tenants to modify the Barn to install a car lift and, in doing so, some structural beams were cut, leading to the Barn’s collapse during a windy day a little more than a year ago (2023 or 2024).

The storyteller almost made it sound as if, when they heard the crash, those who heard it ran outside to see, and witnessed the dustcloud being carried off by the storm.

According to The Barn Artist’s page, the Lucas County Barn was the 82nd Barn to be painted. There’s another Barn in Lucas County that needs some additional research.

Historical photos from 2002 show that the Bicentennial Logo was visible from Airport Highway, to the south.

Where to view and visit: 1625 South Crissey Road in Monclava (41.60834, -83.76142).
The Crissey Road Food & Beverage Center across the street has parking.
