We visited four Barns today. Packed up the family and went Barn hunting.

Killdeer defending three eggs

Parking was easy here—there’s a big wide space in front of the Barn.

That’s where we found this Killdeer, distracting us with the “broken wing” maneuver, hoping to draw us away from its nest.

Which wasn’t easy to see, but we did eventually find it, once the Killdeer realized that we weren’t deceived and it needed to go back and put its body between eggs and the soles of our clumsy shoes.

Sadly, the Bicentennial Logo was better camouflaged under layers of paint—and new siding.
