Pike County – August 9, 2025

It was well over thirty minutes past sunset (8:35 PM) when I attempted to photograph this barn and so I’ll need to come back some day and try again.

Side of Pike County Barn (taken August 9, 2025 after sunset)

It was a full day of family and fun. We started with a donut run to BeeKay’s in Peebles (highly recommended), then a trip to Serpent Mound, a run for lunch groceries and then out onto the water with kayaks at Adams Lake State Park.

Back to the cabin south of Peebles to freshen up, then (drove past this Barn on the way) up to Cardo’s in Waverly for pizza (also highly recommended).

Of course no summer day is complete without ice cream, so we stopped at Whit’s (and also made a Walmart run) on the way to the Barn. (I highly recommend Whit’s, but skip the Walmart.)

Of course by now it’s well past sunset, but I diverted to the Barn anyway as we headed back to the cabin.

There really isn’t a terribly great place to park here, but one can pull off the road northbound on Ohio Route 104, provided you don’t pull too far off. The Barn is protected from visitors by a chain-link fence and the logo side is obscured by tall grasses, so the approach and picture opportunities aren’t great.

I’ll need to try this again in the daylight.

Where to view and visit: northeast corner of Ohio Route 104 and Ohio Routes 1124/32 (Appalachian Highway) in Jasper, at 39.04780, -83.05137
