The last three times I’ve driven the Cleveland/Columbus i71 route, I was pretty certain that the Delaware barn had been taken down, but it wasn’t until I scheduled a brief detour today that I confirmed it. This post contains that bad news, but also brings good news in that the Barn wasn’t knocked down or didn’t fall down, but was carefully preserved to be reconstructed in nearly the same site as part of a larger park in southern Delaware County (permalink).

While I was taking this picture, I asked a construction worker about the project and he indicated that it was going to be reassembled about ten feet to the left of the original location. Presumably the surrounding landscape (and foundation) is being modified to better suit the barn and the new park.
